electrolyte balance is the balance of the salts in the system.
acid /base is more iwth the pH, mostly due to solubility of gases which can change the pH. co2 (carbon dioxide ) is acidic, reduce the pH. lactic acid also reduce the pH (produced when you excersize your muscle , and is responsible for the feeling of tiredness/pain after excirsize)
