A forest consists of trees only, whereas a jungle has other plants and grasses. Forest floors have access to about 1 per cent of the sunlight that is available at the tree-tops. Areas of a forest which are damaged (e.g. by a hurricane) and become exposed to sunlight become jungles (jungles grow). Forests are more dense, and jungles are supposedly taller.

A rainforest is a forests characterized by high rainfall.

Rainforests are home to two thirds of all the living animal and plant species on the planet. It has been estimated that many hundreds of millions of new species of plants, insects and microorganisms are still undiscovered.

Tropical rain forests are called the "jewels of the earth", and the "world's largest pharmacy" because of the large number of natural medicines discovered there. Tropical rain forests are also often called the "Earth's lungs".

The undergrowth in a rainforest is restricted in many areas by the lack of sunlight at ground level. This makes it possible for people and other animals to walk through the forest. If the leaf canopy is destroyed or thinned for any reason, the ground beneath is soon colonized by a dense tangled growth of vines, shrubs and small trees called jungle.

The most popular rainforest is in the Amazon river in Brazil, others are in Central Africa, and Asia, and to some extent in eastern Australia.

We have drifted from the original question, which was what is the difference?

The original definition as I have said already, is an area of land set aside for recreation ( for rest), such as hunting in Norman times in England. This comprised not just woodland but scrub and common land, It has over time become the definition of purely woodland, but that was not the original meaning.
In the rain forest it rains more, the forest it does not as much.

The forest has different trees than the rain forest...

Rainforest have thicker trees that block out most of the light so you have fewer plants on the ground.

Also, jungles surround rainforests, and might be closer to rivers.
