Often, the word "create" is reserved for the activity of bringing something into existence from nothing. This is not an activity that humans are good at. Inventing is the special ability to take physical objects and assemble them in new (and preferably useful) ways. The word "creator" does have a meaning, usually in the creative arts. We might say that symphonies, operas, works of graphic or movement arts, are "created" by their originators. Literary works, and particularly fictional characters are often said to be "created" by the authors who present them.
