"Laser" is a device that's used to generate very pure electromagnetic radiation,
at one single frequency and with all of its photons vibrating in the same direction
at the same time.
Many different frequencies can be generated by different types of lasers.
Infrared radiation is just one of them.
An infrared pointer uses light that is mainly in the infrared spectrum, and so is mostly invisible to humans. A laser pointer in general refers to any device using a beam of light to mark an object. Both use the same basic technology. The only difference is the wave length. IR lasers are outside of the visual spectrum where as standard laser pointers are within the visual spectrum.
A continuous laser produces a constant wave. A pulsed laser's wave is intermittent.
A laser thermometer is also often referred to as an infrared thermometer. An infrared thermometer detects the temperature of and object based on the amount of infrared radiation that is given off by said object by focusing the radiation.
A class IV laser will blind you much faster.
Infrared radiation is of a much lower frequency (and a longer wavelength) than X-rays.

While both optical in laser mice require a light source in order to detect movement, the difference between the two technologies are optical mice use LEDs as their light source while laser mice use infrared laser that cannot be seen by the human eye. Laser mice are also much more precise than optical mice due to a higher DPI tolerance.
a CD is 700 megabytes and uses an infrared laser. a DVD is about 4.5 gigabytes and uses a red laser commercially Dvd's are for movies and new software and Cd's are used for music and older software
The main difference between gamma rays and infrared rays is in their wavelengths. Gamma rays have the shortest wavelengths while infrared rays have longer wavelengths. Gamma and infrared rays are types of electromagnetic radiation.
A laser is man-made, a river is natural.
The difference is their wavelengths.
The old laser printers used He-Ne laser , and the modern laser printers use infrared laser .
No they are not. The difference is the light. Laser pens will have the red shining light while the infrared pens won't have any visible light. The only way you will be able to tell if it's working (the infrared pen) is you have to test it against either a wiimote or camera lens for more information visit http://infraredpens.com/
Infrared wave
There is no difference.
A continuous laser produces a constant wave. A pulsed laser's wave is intermittent.
An ink jet printer simply prints. A color laser copier COPIES. This is the significant difference between the two.
