Males are allowed to check and females can't. Also females cradle across the body and males cradle up by the head. The males also have different strung sticks the females
Actually the only difference is that men can hit and women can't but that's not say women don't hit cause it happens. Women use the same strung stick in box it is only different in field Lacrosse.
In womens lacrosse they dont have to where elbow pads or shoulder pads or a helmet but must where protective goggles. There is no difference in what goalies must where. Girls lacrosse sticks arent allowed to have any depth in the pocket and in mens(boys) lacrosse you can.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Huge difference! Boys' are deep like butterfly nets and some are short (for offence) some are long (for defence). It's way easy to catch with them and you don't need skill. Girls' on the other hand have tight sticks and it depends on your height for what size your stick is. Girls have to have skills to be able to catch, cradle, and get ground balls.
-Girl lacrosse Player
There is a difference between boys and girls lacrosse that is barely noticeable. You can't even tell the difference from the two sticks. Anybody can mistake a boys stick for a girls stick. There is no difference in what you buy.
yes, a girls lacrosse stick is skinnier and more often then not a crankshaft. also its usually smooth grip unlike men's metallic grips.
Mens lacrosse heads have pockets so that when you get hit its easier to hold the ball, but because women lacrosse is a none contact sport there is no pocket and cradling is different.
Men wear more equipment and padding and are allowed to check.
no but girls usually use a 30" mens shaft
The two are very similar except precision pockets are often used on goalie lacrosse sticks, whereas runway pockets are used for field position sticks.
: There are tons of differences. You can start with where you play, obviously, field or an arena. The defensemens sticks are different lengths(field lacrosse defenders have 6 foot long sticks, box defenders have normal sticks), the size of the nets and the goalies.6 by 6 feet in field, 4 by 4 in box. Size of the goalies, full padding in box with little room to shoot at, or field, where the only difference between the goalie and the players is the stick. The fact that there are offsides in field lacrosse, there are no offsides in box. etc. : I'm bored so im not going to list any more, but i could go on for pages on how they are different.
•Lacrosse is heaps rough and Sofcrosse isn't. •Lacrosse sticks have no bar going across the catcher to stop the ball from falling out and the catcher is made out of some stringy stuff while Sofcrosse sticks' catcher is plastic and has the bar.
Top quality goalie sticks can be bought at hockey giant, halifax lacrosse stores and Don Simmons SPORTS.The latest goalie stick will set you back around £200 but it will be worth every single penny.
defender sticks are 6 ft. alot longer than attack or mid. if you play d at a level higher than 5 or 6 grade i recommend it. you need to get used to it
