Moving a file MOVES that file to another location, while copying creates another copy of the file to the new location and your original file remains at its original location. It is just like you take a file from your cabinet and place it in another one. It is Moving.
Copying:
you take a file, get a copy of it, place the original at its original place and the copy of that document to another location. it is Copying.
