When meeting with an employer, keep your resume in a nice portfolio folder that's neatly organized. So when they ask for your resume, you can simply take it out and hand it to them. You don't have to give them the whole folder. It's just for you to keep it in and to look professional. Also, it's important to have copies of your references in the portfolio in case a manager asks.
