If im correct i would believe it is sectionalism.
is this a question
In 1800's USA, nationalism refers to a social movement that focuses on the good of the nation while sectionalism puts the wants and needs of an area (a state as opposed to the nation) first. An example of Nationalism was when the America prohibited other countries from colonizing. Sectionalism refers to the Missouri Compromise where Missouri claimed the right to slavery, but Maine outlawed slavery.

Love and art for the most part.
nationalism is pride in your country and you do something to honor it yourself, and feudalism is where the government is forcing you to do something.
Major areas of conflict between nationalism and sectionalism in the United States included issues such as states' rights versus federal power, the expansion of slavery into new territories, tariffs and economic policies that favored different regions, and the balance of power between Northern and Southern states in Congress. These conflicts often centered around differing perspectives on how the country should be unified and governed, leading to tensions that ultimately culminated in the Civil War.
This is a slightly silly question or possibly one that hasn't been expressed very clearly. Is it liberal nationalism versus extreme nationalism? Or is it liberalism versus extreme nationalism?C.Glasnost
