The terrestrial planets are closer to the sun than gas planets they are also smaller than gas planets gas planets have no surface they are just made out of different gases and the terrestrial are made out of minerals with a surface and have rocky surfaces.

the inner planets are terrestial and outer planet like Jupiter, Neptune etc are gas planet.

terrestrial are planets that are the inner planets since there are made up of rock. but on the other hand. the outer planets are the gas giants. or the outer planets. they are made up of various gasses.

In the case of our Solar System:* The terrestrial planets are closer to the Sun. * The gas giants are much larger than the terrestrial planets. * The gas giants don't have a surface on which you can stand. A related fact is that gas giants have a much lower average density.

gas planets are made out of gas rock planets are made out of rocks that form together

A terrestial planet is a planet in the inner solar system (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are terrestial planets). These planets are mostly made of rocks.Mercury is a terrestial planet, therefore it is made of rock.

The planets jupiter, saturn, uranus and neptune are not terrestial planets because they are made of gas and they are called jovian/giant planets.

The inner planets are rocky, the outer planets are gas.

There are 7 main classification of Planets. They are classified into the following groups; * Inferior Planets * Superior Planets * Inner Planets * Outer Planets * Terrestial Planets, * Jovian Planets * Gas Giants

The 4 inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. They are all solid planets, called terrestial planets. Outside of those are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, which are all gas giants, and have no surface as such. Beyond that is the dwarf planet Pluto, which is another terrestial object.

The gas giants ("Jovian planets") are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. Unlike the terrestrial planets, these planets:Are quite a bit largerConsist mainly of gasDon't have a surface on which you might standContain more hydrogen and helium, and less of the heavier elementsHave a lower density

Earth us a terrestrial planet. Jovian planets are gas giants with no solid surface.

Inner planets are mostly rock and outer planets are mostly gas.

Earth is a Terrestial Planet because it's one of the four closest planets to the sun. This planets are in between the Asteroid Belt and after the asteroid belt are the four gas giants: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune (in that order). Then there's Pluto. The four Terrestial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars (in that order). Earth is also a Terrestial Planet because it has a solid surface that we're able to walk on, unlike the four gas giants where their surface is composed of different gases making it impossible for us to walk on it.

The inner planets are known as "rocky planets" and the outer planets are known as "gas planets" or "gas giants" because they are mostly formed from gasses.

terrestrial planets are made of rocks and stuff (like the Earth), and gas giants aka Jovians are made of gasses and are generally *much* larger (like Jupiter/Saturn)

The main differences between inner and outter planets are: Outter planets are all gas planets and are huge in size and have extreme heat temperatures, Inner planets all have a solid crusts, they are small in size and have lower temperatures than gas planets

Terrestrial planets are made up of rock and ice, while gaseous planets are made up of (who would have thought?) gas.

The four inner, rocky planets are also known as the terrestrial planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars), they have a clearly defined terrain (unlike the four outer gas giant planets).

the rocky planets are small, dense, and rocky, while the gaseous planets are huge, less dense, and made up mainly of gas

The outer planets have a gas surface, the inner planets have a rocky surface. Another is that the outer planets are bigger than the inner planets. The last major difference is that the inner planets are more denser than the gas giants.

Gas giants are big and made of gas whereas terrestrial planets are smaller and are made of rock.

Well, terrestrial planets are the planets roughly like Earth, in composition. Terrestrial means "Earth-like". These planets are found before the asteroid belt and the outer gas giant planets. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars come in this category of terrestrial planets.

The Asteroid Belt is a demarcation between the gas giants and terrestrial type planets.

The inner planets are generally referred to as all the planets closer to the sun than the asteroid belt, and the outer planets are the ones further away from the sun. There is no specific physical difference besides distance, although most of the outer planets are gas giants, but being a gas giant does not make them an outer planet. Outer planets tend to be made of gas and dust particles, and are usually bigger that the inner planets. The inner planets are warmer, with rocky cores and thinner atmospheres.

if your talking about the two groups of planets it would be the Jovian planets which are all of the gas giants (Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus) and then the inner rocky planets which I'm pretty sure are classified as terrestial planets. (Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.)
