Mass is the size of an object and weight is the amount of force gravity has on an object.

Mass is an intrinsic property of a body, as it remains the same everywhere in the universe.

Weight is variable due to change in the magnitude of the gravitational force applied by the earth.

Mass is scalar and has no direction dependency

Weight is vector and is directed towards the center of the earth

Mass is constant all the time. It is measured in kilograms (kg). Weight is mass X gravity, so on Earth 1 gram equals 10 Newtons (the measure of Weight). Weight depends on gravity. When you are 'weighing' yourself, you are really massing yourself - who gives their weight in Newtons? So both mass and weight will typically use kilograms.
Weight is what something has here on earth, it's dependent on gravity. Mass is always the same, even in space or on the moon, as it's based around the density and volume of the object instead.
Mass:

Mass is a property of matter, it is a measure of how much stuff is in a lump of matter

A lump of matter has the same mass, no matter where it is in the universe.

Mass gives matter its inertia and the inertia of a lump of matter is the same, no matter where it is in the universe.

Weight:

Weight is a measure of the heaviness of an object - which is the result of the force of attraction between to lumps of matter (mass).

When a lump of matter is placed in a gravity field it will be pulled towards the centre of that gravity field and the force of that pull is the weight of that matter (gravity and mass are related).

However its weight will be different in different gravity fields. Thus a lump of matter that weighs 1 pound on the surface of the the earth will weigh 1/3 of a pound on the Moon because the gravity of the moon is 1/3 that of the Earth.

Therefore weight is a measure of the attraction of the earth (gravity) for a given mass, and mass is the amount of matter that an object contains. Without gravity, as in outer space (or in free fall), any mass has negligible weight.

Thus if you were to travel to the moon your weight would change because the pull of gravity is weaker there than on Earth but, your mass would stay the same because you are still made up of the same amount of matter.

Mass is an intrinsic property of matter, but weight is mass times the acceleration of gravity. So, mass does not change; you have the same mass on the moon as you have on earth, but gravitational pull is much stronger on earth than the moon, so you weigh more on earth.

This is a frequent source of confusion.

A mass, which can be informally defined as the "amount of matter", can be measured though its inertia.

A mass will also have weight - a force of attraction by gravity - but the weight for the same mass will be different, depending on where you place it. The same mass of 1 kg. on Earth will be attracted with a force of 9.8 Newton; on the Moon, this force will be about 1.6 Newton. The gravitational force is less, but the object still has the same amount of substance.

Mass is the property that gives objects (a) its weight, and (b) its inertia, making it hard to speed up or slow down massive objects. Weight is a force, with which gravity attracts an object. The relationship is:

weight = mass x gravity

For example, an object with a mass of 100 kilograms will weigh ca. 980 newton under normal Earth gravity (9.8 meters per second square); the same object will weigh more, or less, in other places (more on Jupiter, less on our Moon, zero in outer space). However, despite the differences in weight, its mass will NOT change (excluding some insignificant effects due to the Theory of Relativity) - for example in outer space, under conditions of weightlessness, it will still require an effort to get a massive object moving - or to slow it down if it is moving.
