"1 Hz" means that 1 complete wave passes the place where you're sitting

each second.

So regardless of what kind of wave it is or what its speed may be, if its

frequency is 1 Hz, then it takes 1 second to travel 1 wavelength.

How do you prove that speed equals wavelength times frequency?

Frequency is the number of waves per second, i.e. 20Hz is 20 waves per second. Wavelength is obviously the length of each wave i.e 20m So if there are 20 waves per second, the distance it travels is the length of the wave multiplied by the number of waves in one second. The distance travelled in one second by the wave above is therefore 20 * 20m wich is 400m. The distance travelled in 1 second is 400m. Therefore every second, the wave travels 400m and thus the speed is 400meters per second (400m/s).

What is the fetch of a wave?

The lenght of time a wave has traveled or in more intelligent words The Fetch of a wave is the distance over open water over which the wind has blown (further it has travelled, the larger the wave.)

How is the diameter of laser beam calculated?

distance traveled by the Laser light and also incidence wave length

How do you find wave speed?

To estimate the speed of a wave, a person can estimate the distance the wave is from shore and then time how long the wave takes to reach the shore. For example, if a wave is one mile out and it takes one minute to reach shore, the wave is traveling at 60 miles per hour.

How does the speed of a photon compare to the speed of an EM wave?

Wave length of gamma rays is 10 raised to the power of minus 12. It means that you have 10 raised to 12 waves in case of gamma rays/ meter. Wave length of radio wave is 10 raised to 3. So there is difference of '12' zeros between both of them. But the speed of electromagnetic wave is about 300,000,000 meters/ second. It means that photon travels about 300,000,000 meters/second. So the actual distance traveled by photon in case of radio wave is little more than 300,000,000 meters. So in case of gamma rays the distance traveled by photon is 1,000,000,000,000 *1000 = 1000,000,000,000,000 times that of radio wave per second.
