There is no easy route up to the summit of Mount Everest. Both the North and South routes have there easy and hard parts to climb. However, most climbers climb the South side to avoid the Second Step on the North side.
There is no real 'safe' route to the summit of Mount Everest, all routes have there dangers. Most climbers use the South route in Nepal because the camps are at lower altitudes but this means going through the Khumbu Icefall.
