in theory, the body exposed to the pressure, given the components of the air adjusted for the pressure, would function normally. lemme start from square 1.

the air we breathe now is used at the same component ratio, but pressurized, for people under pressure. the problem is pressurizing the person. safely pressurizing a person in a chamber with the same air theyre breathing would take, in realistic applications, a looong time, as the body would slowly adapt to it. the thing here is the toxic levels of oxygen.

your body takes in a certain mass of oxygen in the air we breathe. if that air is pressurized, the body, taking in that same mass amountor air, is actually taking in more oxygen which, at certain pressures, is at toxic levels.

the key is to pressurize the oxygen with something safe, with a lower oxygen ratio, so the mass of pressurized oxygen inhaled is safe, with the same mass at oxygen at atmospheric pressure. nitrogen at high levels is narcotic, so helium is used. you step into a chamber, which is pressurized with helium to keep the same amount of oxygen available in every breath, so your body can safely adapt to the pressure.

imprroperly pressurizing someone can lead to oxygen toxicity. decompression work by reversing the pressurization.exposing someone to lower pressure makes the oxygenn in your blood expand, which the body will slowly adapt to. rapid depressurization will make your blood cells, and at certain levels the whole body, explode.

may have been a little off topic, but i hope it helps

I have evidence that atmospheric (barometric) pressure affects us as humans. When pressure is low the body feels like a brick. There seems to be a lot of evidence of this, so where are the studies?

Yes, It makes your muscles tense up, your liver produces suger, your pupils take in more light your digestive system stops, your hart rate increases and you breathe in more oxygen

air pressure stops the human body from collapsing and keeps it upright, because it is pushing on the body from all directions

Uranus is a gas giant planet. There is no oxygen there and northing to stand on. Where atmospheric pressure is in a range that humans could survive, it is extremely cold.

What occurs when an earthquake happens?

Tectonic plates build up pressure and when the pressure gets to strong they collide. This causes the earth to rumble, which is an earthquake. Massive underwater earthquakes may cause tsunamis.

Why would humans swell up and die if they traveled to Mars?

The air pressure on the planet Mars is extremely low. A person exposed to such low air pressure would therefore be injured by the internal pressure of his or her own body, which is adapted to the Earth's atmosphere. Even aside from that, the atmosphere of Mars does not contain oxygen, so any person trying to breathe it would die from lack of oxygen. However, a person could live on Mars, just as a person could live on the moon, as long as that person remained inside a space suit or other air-tight container, which would provide the right kind of air pressure and oxygen to breathe.
