Leptotyphlops carlae is a type of snake that lives on the island of Barbados. It's as thin as a spaghetti noodle and small enough to rest on a US quarter. In fact, it's the world's smallest snake at 10 cm, just under 4 inches.

Another thing that is close to 10 cm is the length of an Apple iPhone 4S (although that is slightly larger at 11.5 cm)

That's the approximate size of some bacteria - although the size range for bacteria is actually quite large. It is also a bit less than the width of a very thin human hair.
