The falling action occurs when the plane lands and Brian is rescued. It continues with the Epilogue in which the reader learns the aftermath of Brian's experience in the wilderness and how it has changed him.

The falling action in "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen occurs after Brian is rescued and taken back to civilization, where he must adjust to life after his harrowing experience in the wilderness. Brian reflects on the lessons he learned and how the survival skills he acquired have changed him.
Rising action: My opinion is when the plane goes over Brian but doesn't hear him.(chapter 12)
Climax: When the first aid kit is in the plane and brian goes in the lake to get it.
