No. There is an extension for the N64 that Nintendo made so that people can make their own games on it, but they didn't pursue that project and the extension is un-usable.

If speaking of a Nintendo DS, it is a ROM file. It's like insides of the game card packed into a file, bootable by the DS or an emulator.
.b is an extension for binary files mostly used by video game emulators... .b is also the extension for BASIC programming language source text files...
Items you will need Nintendo DS Nintendo DS game Once you receive a corrupted Nintendo DS game file, the only option you have is to delete the file. There is no way to retrieve the information from it. Fortunately, Nintendo created a way to access save files without having to access the in-game menu. This process will free up the save slot on your game to enable you to make a new noncorrupted game save. Plug the DS game with the corrupted file into the game slot. Turn the system on. Press the "Left" shoulder button, "Right" on the directional pad and "Select" at the same time. All three buttons must be pressed at the same time. Select the game by pressing the game's icon on the main menu with the DS stylus pen. The game's memory will be deleted, and you will be able to save a new game file. Tips Store the game in a case to protect it from damage and spills. Warnings Leaving the game in direct sunlight will cause the save file to become corrupted.
The save file of the game saves itself automatically after a race or event.
if you are talking about the NINTENDO event at Game Stop, no. i know of someone who traded a Snorunt from another file onto their newly started file...
if it says saved file failed it means your game(s) are broken, to fix it you need to take it to the Nintendo shop in Edgware. or if your in japan go to singla nathoo (nintendo shop)

The Nintendo DS doesn't actually require memory cards for game saving, the memory needed to save games is built into the game cartridges themselves.
