Motion does not require a force; if no force is acting on a body in motion, its motion will be constant. A force is required to change motion, and any unbalanced force acting on an object can do this.
Once contact with the object that provided the force to initiate the motion, i.e. your hand or the hockey stick, there is no force tending to keep it in motion. The inertia of the puck in motion will resist any change in that motion, but inertia is a physical property not a force. From a free body diagram the only apparent force acting on the puck would be air resistance tending to slow it down.

Motion, If an object is not ifluenced by any force other then its motion, its velocity will naturally remain constant. i.e, it will continue to move along in a perfectly straight line at a constant speed.
