The follow-up story, Underworld: Evolution, was released January 20, 2006. A prequel, Underworld: Rise of the Lycanswhere the plot picks up on the story between Viktor and Lucian and how the war between Vampires and Lycans began, will be in theatres January 23, 2009. It has not been announced when, but there will be a fourth installment picking up on where Selene and Michael left off in the second movie.[2]
