Traventine is one of the softer stones. On the MOHS scale it varies between 2.5 to 3.5, hence making it softer than Granite and Quartz surfaces.

If we have to compare Travetine with Marble hardness, then both are almost the same, although Travetine is being used for outdoor wall cladding more frequently than Marble. This is probably because Travetine takes more time to fade away in the Hot summer sun when compared to Marble
