If you get all A's on regular classes, your unweighted GPA would be 4.0.

If you had all A's on honors classes, your weighted GPA would be 5.0.(unweighted=4)

If you had all A's on AP Classes, your weighted GPA would be 6.(unweighted=4)

HOWEVER, most colleges count your unweighted GPA.

For schools with unweighted grading systems, it's 4.0, where

A - 4.0

B - 3.0

C - 2.0

D -1.0

Note that some schools add (+) or (-) suffixes to their grading system to indicate other GPA scores:

(This is an example, check you're school for exact figures)

A- = 3.75

B+ = 3.25

B- = 2.75

C+ = 2.25

C- = 1.75

D+ = 1.25

D- = 0.75

Some schools grade on a weighted system, which mean that they grade honors classes on a 5.0 GPA scale to eliminate fear that students have about taking the class and having it lower their GPA. For these honor classes:

A - 5.0

B - 4.0

C - 3.0

D - 2.0

Note that schools that grade on unweighted systems will use the 4.0 GPA scales for honor classes and regular classes.
