While the largest waves would be tsunamis caused by seafloor eartquakes, the largest at-sea waves are caused by tropical storms and squall lines. Gusting high winds can create seas as high as 50 feet (15 m). Typhoons and hurricanes also have a central "mound" of water in the eye, which comes ashore as a storm surge.
The highest wave ever recorded was a massive 1,720-foot (524.256m). It occured at Lituya Bay on the southern coast of Alaska in 1958.
There is not a specific wave or size of wave in the ocean. Waves are caused by the force and movement of a current and the wind.
the biggest sea wave is a sunarmi which is about 50 or 60 meters tall

The highest waves in the ocean are usually caused by a storm or earthquake. An earthquake at sea can cause mass destruction if the waves crash into land.
