A great little book: I read it all in one go, its not very long. Its a warning about the injustices of Totalitarian power. It also features the inequalities of the human condition, in that all animals are created equal, it's just that some are more equal than others. I suppose the Farm is a microcosm of a society, whether it is more than that, the world perhaps, I could not say. But as I remember it, and I read it over 30 years ago, it's an engaging, pleasant, romantic view, but it provokes thought & engages the reader in a subtle argument without prejudice or dogma. My word ! I (JRWaddy) wrote the above nearly a year ago. I have since re read it. The end excepted it is a marvellous book for children, a total fantasy, and yet what can be read into it, without too much difficulty, is a vivid picture of corruption of power & manipulation of innocence. Yes, a great little book.

There really isn't a theme to Animal Farm Ch.2. It's more of a rising action because that's when the animals finally took over the farm. However, the overall theme to Animal Farm is absolute power corrupts absolutely, and no one is truly equal.
