With the timing set at 10 degrees BTDC it is 800 RPM.
You may want to check for sticking throttle linkage/cable and also your ignition timing may be advanced

hi I have. A 1988 samurai and when I start it up it will not idle up at all I have to give it gas to idle up wondering if there's something I can do.
1,300 +/- 100 RPM. I got this info from my Clymer book.
I would be looking for a vacuum leak.
check you carbs accelerator pump then check the fuel pump that's normally the problem
Your idle should be set to between 1000 and 1050 RPM to prevent low oil pressure at idle.

when u first start the car it will idle high, around 1.5 rpm to 2 rpm. when its warm up it should idle between 700-1000 rpm
the RPM should idle 700 - 900
the idle should be about 900 RPM in park or neutral.
