In the Kelvin system 0 is set at he coldest possible temperature which is called absolute zero. Each degree kelvin is equal to a degree Celsius. The freezing point of water is 273.15 K so absolute zero is -273.15 deg C. There can be nothing colder than 0 K.

### Is celsius a standard unit in the metric system?

The base unit for temperature is the kelvin. One degree celsius
is the same as one kelvin, because kelvin starts at absolute zero,
degrees celsius is kelvin plus 273.15.
Celsius is used for most non-technical uses.
Kelvin is just kelvin, not degrees kelvin.

### Which temperature measuring system uses the same units as celsius?

The Celsius system and Kelvin system use degrees that are equal
to each other in magnitude (in how much heat is in "one degree")
but to convert from Celsius to Kelvin you subtract 273.15... from
it. Also, for some reason degrees Kelvin are just called kelvins,
without adding "degrees".
