Land preparation is important in agriculture because it prepares the land for planting. A well prepared field controls weeds, recycles plant nutrients (or adds nutrients), and provides a soft soil mass.

It is called a sheaf of corn. The preparation of corn sheaves makes ready for the haywain (cart) to be loaded for a trip to the corn stack in the barn. There are many "pubs" called The Wheatsheaf".
This is when you process the land to plant. You might till the land and add in important nutrients to help your plants grow.
Ploughing is the initial process in which the soil is broken and turned over, exposing fresh soil and burying weeds. Harrowing follows ploughing to break up clods of soil, level the surface, and prepare a seedbed for planting. Together, ploughing and harrowing help aerate the soil, improve drainage, and create optimal conditions for seed germination and crop growth.
