The oxygen is mostly found in the troposphere. However most of the oxygen formed OZONE is found in stratosphere. It is due to the pressure of air there and the UV rays.

What atmosphere filters out 95 percent of UV radiation?

The ozone layer in the Earth's stratosphere filters out about 95 percent of UV radiation from the sun. However, it is important to note that some UV radiation still reaches the Earth's surface, especially in areas where the ozone layer is depleted.

An oxygen form present in the ozone layer filters ultraviolet radiation from the sun?

Yes, that's a true statement. In one of the great coincidences of science, that form of oxygen is called "ozone".

What happens if the ozone layer breaks?

The ozone layer is about 50,000 feet above the Earth's surface. This area filters out a great deal of our UV radiation. In the extremely unlikely event that this area would decay it would increase the UV-B radiation hitting the earth. The total ozone between the Sun and Earth's surface is equivalent to a layer of pure ozone gas about 3mm thick. UV-C and more energetic radiation is blocked by the large amounts of oxygen and nitrogen gas at the same altitude (and even higher).

Why is the ozone layer an important form of oxygen?

The ozone layer is important because it blocks out ultraviolet radiation that is potentially harmful to life on earth.
