Overeating and to little exercise. If you eat a lot you will gain weight unless you exercise A LOT. Not like 3 times a week for 1 hour, I mean A LOT! Like 7 times a week. Well back to the topic, it is mainly over eating and eating wrong food.

There are many factors that contribute to obesity. One factor may be hereditary traits. There has been research to show that obesity may continue from mother to daughter or father to son, but not likely crossing. Another thing that contributes to being overweight is what you eat. If you find a good, healthy diet you should be fine. The last thing that contributes to your weight is lack of exercise. If you exercise then you will slowly burn off your excess fat.

A bad diet - and lack of exercise ! If you consume more calories than your body needs - the only option is for your body to convert unused calories to fat. Exercise burns calories - thus keeping your body healthy, and your BMI low.
