Without it being classified as a Short Barreled Rifle under BATFE guidelines, it must be at least 26 inches in length, with a barrel length of at least 16 inches. In instances where the stock is designed to be easily detached, the measurement is taken from end to end with the stock detached.
You must be 18 to buy a rifle. The stock has nothing to do with it.
It depends.. if you have a carbine length barrel and will be using it on a rifle with a carbine length barrel, then yes. If you took it from a rifle with a rifle length barrel, and are putting it on a rifle with a carbine length barrel, then it won't function properly.
The FEDERAL Firearms Act defines the legality of firearms in the U.S. For a rifle to be of legal size, the barrel cannotmeasure less than 16 inches in length (measured from the mouth of the receiver to the tip of the muzzle. and it cannot measure less than 26 inches in overall length measured from the tip of the muzzle to the tip of the stock.
nope, in California a rifle with a removable carteridge cannot have any of the following a conspicuous forward grip a protruding pistol grip a flash suppressor and other things (like a grenade launcher and folding/telescoping stock) since the ar-10 has pistol grips AND a removable carteridge (and usually a flash suppressor) they are illegal in the state of California.
Probably not a good idea. A rifle barrel has to be 16 inches. There is an overall legal length as well. If you have any doubt call your local police or sheriffs department. Getting caught with an illegal .22 can be as serious as getting caught with an illegal machine gun.
No but there are kits to make it legal. The hurdles involved in rendering the PS90 California-legal are: * The forward stock protrusion under the barrel could be considered a forward pistol grip. * The owner's manual states that the device on the front of the barrel is a flash hider. * The thumbhole stock is a restricted feature. * Overall length of the rifle is around 26", which is fine by federal law, but not for a semi-automatic centerfire rifle in California. The question can't be answered without knowing who made it, barrel length, caliber, finish and type of stock.
Yes, it is legal. Florida has no AWB in effect. However, anything you add must be US made.
Can't be answered without a detailed description of all markings, barrel length, stock, sights, etc..
I am not familiar with a Navy Arms Country Boy rifle- but if by chance you have a Navy Arms Country HUNTER .50 caliber muzzleloader, they are pretty much a traditional muzzle loading rifle. Remove ramrod, draw back the hammer, tap the retaining wedge pins out of the stock, then lift barrel out of the stock. Right there is a good place to stop. You can check with Navy Arms customer service through their website to see if a manual is available for your rifle. Also check to see if this rifle uses a removable breechplug. Some black powder rifles have a non-removable breech plug.
For the most current information you need to go to the BATFE website and download/read the regs that are in effect now.
