Although the above answer is correct, I think what they are trying to say is that it all depends on the length of thr Alligator. Typically, the length of an Alligator's tail is about half of the total length of the animal itself. For example, the tail of an Alligator of 10 feet in length will be about 4 1/2 to 5 foot long.
