Frankly, I think there could be no day or year on the sun because one year is how long it takes a planet to revolve around the sun. It takes the sun aproxamitly 25.6 days to rotate on its axis (360 degrees)

Believe it or not, you have to specify what you mean by day. You probably have heard the term Greenwich Mean Time. Mean means average. Greenwich Mean Time and Universal Time are based on a careful measurement of the length of time that elapses during a year, and then an averaging of the time over the days of the year. It is done this way because solar days, days that are reckoned by the transits of the sun, are not of uniform length throughout the year. This is because of the elliptical orbit of the earth, combined with the relatively constant rotational velocity of the earth on its axis. So the solar days vary a little in length, but we can depend on the equally measured days of Universal Time no matter what is happening with solar days. You may not believe this: solar days are a little longer for us in the north during our winter. A solar day is the whole period of roughly 24 hours, reckoned by the sun's transits. Periods of daylight are of course longer for us in the north during our summer (but the solar days are a tiny bit shorter). Differences in the solar days are not important, since we reckon time by the Universal clock and not by the sun. So we need to know if you mean maximum length of: solar day, or maximum period of daylight, or days in Universal Time. Even days of Universal Time are not all of equal length, all the time. Periodically, Leap Seconds are added to a given day, usually in December or in June, for reasons beyond this answer.
