i don't think read-only usb devices exist. usb flash drives (read/write) have a pretty good life... certainly no less than you would require before it becomes obsolete.
Yes, there are quite a few different names: Thumb Drive Flash Drive USB Drive Stick Drive Pen Drive Memory Stick All are essentially USB Flash Drives.
Flash drive
A USB Flash Drive by Any Other Name-- finger stick -- memory stick-- pen drive-- disk-on-key--jump drive
The flash drive or stick has reached its capacity. Depends what you are storing and how big your flash drive is.
A 16GB flash drive can hold 4x as many files as a 4GB flash drive. I would recommend a 16GB.
A flash drive can hold anywhere from 256 MB to 8 GB.
By memory stick I'm assuming that you mean a flash drive. But anyway, if you have a Mac computer, (includes MacBook Pro, MacBook, etc.) you insert the flash drive into the computer's socket (NOT THE ELECTRICAL SOCKET!). Then, after a few seconds, the flash drive will appear on your desktop. Then, if you want to save a document, picture, or whatever it is you want to upload, you save it to your desktop, and then drag it into the flash drive icon that's on your screen.
A "flash stick" is another word for a USB flash drive. The term "flash" is used because it consists of flash memory data storage. Flash memory is is a non-volatile computer storage (computer memory that can retain the stored information even when not powered) that can be electrically erased and reprogrammed.
No, but you can download it to a jump drive. Or is it the same thing?Oh well, just stick with jump drive. :)
A flash memory card is a card that holds digital data. An example of a flash memory card would be an SD Card, Micro SD, Memory Stick Pro Duo, Flash Drive (Thumb Drive, USB key). All Ipod models except the ipod classic use flash memory. Flash memory has no moving parts, but, hardrives do. Those are classified under, non-flash memory. Flash memory cards have different memory capacities. The higher the capacity, the more expensive it will be. But, the higher capacity, the more stuff can be put on it. Hope this helps
