no the body lines are different and wouldn't line up.
An A class body style can be updated to disc brakes easily!
I would buy a Haynes or Chiltons manual for the car. I have a Haynes for my 72 Duster, and it has all the wiring diagrams. Also, an absolute wealth of information on every other component of the car. Very useful.
it would depend on how long it was before you changed the oil, the more you drive it the metal sound will disapate.

yes they did. both 71 and 72 came standard with disc brakes and they were all 5 lug. 1967-1970 were all drum brake and 6 lug
