elect state, and enter city for the tide you want to calculate. Or find some other way to find what the latitude and longitude is and when the moonrise and moonset. Halfway between these times would be the moon up. The lunitidal interval is the difference from moon up until the first high tide after moon up*.
I make it 7 hours and 18 minutes.
This is the average from a sample of about 30 tides I took, using moon meridian times from http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?obj=moon&n=22
and using tide times from http://www.linz.govt.nz/hydro/tidal-info/tide-tables/index.aspx (which I had to adjust for DST).
The method is to look at the time until the next high tide after each moon meridian time.
Meridian is when the Moon passes the same longitude as Auckland.
I have just set my watch to this, but have yet to test how well it works. Based on the sample I used, Lunitidal interval will vary on any given day between about 7 hours and 7 hours and forty minutes. 7 hours and 18 minutes was my sample average, but that won't necessarily be very accurate for any given day.
About 7 hours 20 minutes, though this does change depending on the nature of the moons orbit.
