Go to your control panel and go to appearence/desktop and you should figure it out from there.
The desktop itself is a visual display of the desktop folders that reside in C:\Documents and Settings\(username/all users)\Desktop (unless an administrator has moved the folder to another location) When the computer loads, it looks to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop for items to be displayed to all users and displays those in the main window. It will then look to ../*username*/desktop for personal desktop items to display if there are any.
The desktop is the main computer screen that is visible when there are no open windows. It usually has a color, graphic, or photo background with icons for various shortcuts or documents. It is also associated with the taskbar (Windows) and dock (Mac).
To remove unused items from the desktop in Windows, a user can use the Desktop Cleanup Wizard, located in Control Panel > Appearances and Themes > Display.

What command can you use to load the windows desktop?
RDP. Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is used by the Windows Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance utilities to connect to and control a remote computer. Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance listen at port 3389.
it depends on what OS you are using but if you are using Windows just right click the main desktop screen and scroll down to screen resolution for windows 7 and for xp go to control panel and it will be under display options.
It is possible for a desktop computer to have a network card. The manuals that came with it should tell you. Look for terms like "Ethernet", "LAN adapter", etc. If your desktop is a Windows PC, look on the windows desktop for "My Network Places", the Control Panel or even the BIOS setup to see if there is a network card present in your desktop.
I think it depends on what kind of interface you're dealing with. As far as I know, when you're dealing with a file interface, the main window is often referred to as the 'file panel' or simply 'main window'.
To change the color in windows 7 you have to right click on your desktop. Then go down the list to personalize and click it. at the bottom you click on windows color and pick your own color or make your own. It's that easy!! :] :] :]
