In the US it is collectively referred to as Congress. Congress is made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate. In the US government the legislative body is referred to as Congress. In England, the legislative body is parliament.congress
It is called the US Congress and consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
I'd say in general "Legislators". In the US you could further classify them by which legislative body they serve in. In the House they are Representative and in the Senate they are Senators.
There is no US "parliament". Parliament is the legislative body in Great Britain and in some other countries as well, but not in the United States. In the United States the legislative body is called Congress. The function of Congress is primarily to make laws governing the nation.
