I think it depends on what state you live in. I don't know where you are from but in the state I live in, you'd be LUCKY to just get a ticket and a fine, because the police CAN and WILL take you to jail for driving that many mph over the posted limit.
Since this highway is in California, anything over 100mph is considered reckless speeding. First time fines are a maximum of $500

That's up to the judge.
Assuming it's your first offense and you were polite to the arresting officer, get yourself a traffic attorney to represent you. According to www.RecklessDrivingFacts.com, your lawyer can request that the judge downgrade the charges to a regular traffic ticket. As a result, the presiding judge will order you to take an 8 hour driver improvement class, and have you mail in the certificate of completion within a certain time period, along with the fines for the ticket. Points for all traffic tickets stay on a person's record for two years in Michigan. The two year period starts at the time of conviction, not from the date the ticket was written. The reckless driving charge itself stays on a person's record for at least 7 years, longer if alcohol was involved.

Reckless driving in Virginia? You're in trouble now. Virginia is probably the worst state to be in when it comes to reckless driving.First off, consider yourself fortunate if you don't get taken in (reckless driving is a six-point offense--serious enough to qualify for an immediate arrest). Now, as to the consequences. First off, they REQUIRE a court appearance; if the court date is a problem, better consult an attorney. Second, there are some STEEP FINES (which recently got much steeper--so much so that some of them are being challenged and/or modified).
Yes, If you don't they will find out anyway. Then it looks like your hidding something. Honesty is the best policy.
Well I suppose driving is by definition, the operation of a vehicle so I suppose they are the same thing. But it would be a different scenario betweenA reckless driverAnd reckless operation of a vehicleAs the first describes a person whereas the second describes the actionHope this Helps! ;)
California state law says that the maximum fine for speeding is $500 for the first offense, and $750 for subsequent offenses. The fine for a speeding ticket can only go above that if it has multiple citations. For example, if you are charged with speeding and reckless driving, you will have to pay up to the maximum for both. Speeding: up to 750 Reckless Driving: up to 1000 + 5 to 90 days in jail Grand total: up to $1750 + 5 to 90 days
$700 and/or up to 90 days in jail. It is considered a Misdemeanor.
