I don't know, but we've had a cardinal tapping at every window of our house for 4 months now. It seems to like our cat!
We also have a cat and have a male cardinal tapping at the window. At first I thought it was to do with his reflection but it pecks at all hours and all windows so something to do with our cat sounds like a good theory to me.

∙ 14y agoNot all naturally occurring phenomenon can or should be interpreted as a sign or omen. This is one of such times. Cardinals who become used to people, usually at feeders, come to recognise people as a source of food. You may simply have cardinals in your area that are trying to tell you that they need to be fed.
Spiritually a red bird has little universal significance. however some people (and some sports fans) use the cardinal as a personal talisman.

They are a sign of gods presence among men because of the dove that came down upon jesus in the form of a spirit represented righteousness and holiness.
