IC isn't a Roman Numeral. The notation suggest "1 before 100", which is 99, but that is written as XCIX. Here is a list of Roman Numerals and ways to remember them:
To write numbers other than these, it's a little bit tricky to grasp. Basically, for up to three times a 1, 10, 100 and 1000, you just write it 3 times e.g. 2 = II, 30 = XXX, 200 = CC and 3000 = MMM. For multiples of 5, u only write them once if needed e.g. 70 = LXX, 8 = VIII and 530 = DXXX. For 4 times a numeral, u put the numeral once, and then the nearest multiple of 5 numeral e.g. 4 = IV, 40 = XL and 400 = CD. For 6-8 times a numeral, you put one (6), two (7) or three (8) of it in front of the nearest multiple of five e.g. 7 = VII, 60 = LX and 800 = DCCC. For nine times a numeral, u put one of it behind the nearest multiple of 10 numeral e.g. 9 = IX, 90 = XC and 900 = CM.
To write 2 or 3 digit numbers, break the number down in to column values (thousands, hundreds, tens or units), and just write the respective numbers down next to each other. For example, this is how u write 2759:
Ok, so lets break it down : 2000 + 700 + 50 + 9. Now we write the numbers next to each other. 2000 = MM, 700 = DCC, 50 = L and 9 = IX. Next to each other that looks like MMDCCLIX. By the way, when writing 4 or nine times something, the multiple of five next to it HAS TO BE THE VERY NEXT ONE UP. IF IT'S NOT, THEN YOU HAVE TO BREAK IT DOWN CORRECTLY! This is why IC isn't a Roman Numeral.
I hope this isn't too confusing and long. The reason I took the trouble to explain how roman numerals work, is that u probably didn't know if u thought IC was a Roman Numeral.
