The freezing and melting point of any pure substance should be the same ... if it's not, you're heating/cooling it too fast."Hot Glue" is not a single compound, so it doesn't have a sharply defined melting point. Depending on the composition of the "glue", it will melt at a lower or higher temperature. In practice, most hot-melt adhesives are either "low-melt" (designed for use in a glue gun operating at about 120 degrees Celsius) or "high-melt" (designed for guns that operate at around 190 degrees Celsius).
