Molarity = moles of solute/Liters of solution

need to find moles NH3

16.7 grams NH3 (1 mole NH3/17.034 grams)

= 0.9804 moles NH3

--------------------------------now

Molarity = 0.9804 moles NH3/1.50 Liters

= 0.654 M

First convert the grams to moles. Find the atomic weight of the molecule NH3

N=14

H=1 x3=3

NH3 = 17 g/mol

17g x 1mol/17g = 1 mol

molarity, M, is mol/L. M=mol/L

1 mol/1.20L = .83M NH3

Molarity (M) = mol of solute / L of soln

mol of NH3 = 17 g x (1 mol/ molar mass of NH3)

then plug that answer into the equation above and find M
