The moral code falls under the Dharma, which is the universal law of what is right and what is wrong. According to a person of the Hindu faith, you accumulate good or bad Karma, depending on whether or not you follow the Dharma. Because of this, sometimes the Dharma is called Karmic Law.

This may be different for each Hindu based on the path they have chosen, but mostly, it is in line with the moral code's of other mainstream religions. Sex within marriage, not killing, not stealing, and being compassionate are some of the more widely accepted aspects of morality. There are not a lot of rigid do's or do not's that are universally held. Non violence to any living thing is considered a huge part of the moral code for many people of the Hindu faith.
