There is not really a 'best' breed of guinea pig it really depends on what your looking for. Different breeds of guinea pigs don't affect the additude to much, but there can be slight changes such as long haired guineas pigs are not as athletic, and albino's don't like the sun.

∙ 14y agoThere is no particular breed of "nicer" pigs, but American guinea pigs (the the most common ones with short hair) are generally easier to take care of, and usually the ceapest
The American Guinea Pigs are very nice, I think, considering I have one, and they are very easy to take care of. Peruvian Guinea Pigs, on the other hand, are a bit more tough to handle, considering I had one, and he peed everywhere... :/

∙ 13y agowell i dont know but im just saying there are guinea pigs that are ugly but that doesnt mean they dont have a warm heart.maybe you should buy a ugly one just try it and see how nice they are.:)

∙ 11y agoNot sure, but the agouti is a very close realitive to the guinea pig and they can get to be bigger than some dog breeds.

Both are guinea pigs, so they can breed. Think of a lab (dog) and a dachshund (dog)........they, too, are different BREEDS, but the same SPECIES (dog)......so, they can also breed.
