It was mel Gibson who directed this movie and did the lead role as well, Mel Gibson as William Wallace after his wife is killed by the English.. He starts an uprising demanding justice that leads to a war for independence.
William Wallace (AKA "braveheart") was captured by the English king, known as Edward the Long Shanks , tortured and eventually beheaded. I don't know if this next part is true but i have heard that his body was torn to peices his arms and legs sent to the 4 corners of England and his head set on London bridge as a warning to other "traitors". Though he did not live to see it Scotland did win its freedom...for a while at least.
William "Braveheart" Wallace was a Scottish Knight, landowner and freedom fighter that lived approximately between the periods of 1270 and 1305. There are no historical records to support the notion that Wallace was ever married let alone had children and for that matter any records then that would describe that child as a daughter. A hero to the Scot's he has been more romanticized and fictionalized than enshrined in historical account. It was Blind Harry, most famous for his tales of Wallace, who wrote The Acts and Deed of Sir William Wallace, Knight of Elerslie. This account is highly criticized by historians as being largely fictional. There was the poet Walter Scott who penned Exploits and Death of William Wallace, "Hero of Scotland" and Jane Porter who penned a romantic version of Wallace in The Scottish Chiefs. The movie Braveheart relied heavily upon all of these accounts and it was most likely Randall Wallace who wrote the screenplay who invented, if not borrowed from other fictional accounts, Wallace's tragic wife and the sad and taboo love to the English Queen who claimed to bear his child.
She was Jane Morris.Jane, née Burden.
Yes. She is real and her name is Marion Braidfute
william wallaces whole campaign against the english was driven by revenge and not patriotism
There is no proof that Wallace was married. His marriage in the film "Braveheart" was used for dramatic licence.
If you mean William Wallace, then forget pretty much everything you saw on Braveheart, most of the film lacks factual accuracy, and was made up as a good story to tell by the writing team (even admitted by mel Gibson in the DVD commentry): The truth is: Marriage - It is not known for certain if William Wallace was married or not, or if he had children. His killing of the Sheriff of Lanark in 1297 is believed to have been as vengeance for the murder of his wife, Marion Braidfute. http://www.Wallace-manandmyth.org/man_and_myth/

There is no historical record of William Baffin being married. He was a 17th century English explorer known for his voyages to the Arctic regions, particularly Baffin Bay which is named after him. His focus and passion seemed to primarily lie in his exploration endeavors rather than in marriage.
