The whole continent is desert-like given its humidity rating which is about five percent: it is the largest contiguous desert on earth, and one of the driest.

Terrain ranges from ice plains to dry valleys of rock and shale. From high mountains to the coast this unbroken desert covers almost the entirety of the worlds fifth largest continent.

The whole of the continent of Antarctica is the world's largest desert.

In spite of it's layer of ice, Antarctica itself is considered a desert, because it has so little rain or snow fall. Antarctica has a permanent layer of thick ice covering it, with only some bare rocky areas showing. There is almost no plant life at all on Antarctica, and no large animals live there throughout the entire year. There are only a few small plants and some insects year-round.
