San Vitale Byzantine church
The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem was commissioned by Constantine and his mother, Helena, in 327 A.D. and was dedicated in 339 A.D.. It was destroyed in 530 A.D. by Justinian, who built a new Church of the same name. Though it has been through many troubles since then, including having all the marble looted for the Mosque on the Temple Mount, and furnishing stolen, the Church build by Justinian remains.
Justinian built the Hagia Sophia so the his people could have a place to relax. Also because people were worried they wouldnt get to go to heaven because they were using icons wrong. So he made it to be like a little peice of heaven for them.
