Dame Elizabeth owned numerous large diamonds. The largest ones are listed below. I chose only diamonds larger than 10 carats for this list:

1. A pair shaped 17 carat colorless diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds and sapphires. This ring was a gift from Michael Jackson.

2. A square cut 27.42 carat fancy yellow colored diamond with smaller colorless diamonds on the sides. She bought this ring as a gift for herself.

3. An emerald cut 29.4 colorless diamond. Engagement ring from Mike Todd.

4. The Burton Cognac Diamonds: The ring: A pear shaped 32.14 carat fancy colored deep brownish orangy yellow diamond surrounded by smaller colorless diamonds. The earrings: Each suspending a detachable modified pear-shaped fancy deep brown-yellow diamond, weighing approximately 7.87 and 6.83 carats, within a circular and baguette-cut diamond frame, to the circular and baguette-cut diamond shield-shaped surmount. All other diamonds in the earrings are colorless.

5. A set of earrings: Each suspending a detachable modified pear-shaped fancy yellow diamond, weighing approximately 15.60 and 15.38 carats, to the circular-cut, marquise-cut and pear-shaped diamond cluster surmount. All other diamonds in the earrings are colorless. A gift from Eddie Fisher for Elizabeth's 30th birthday. She was later sent the bill From Bulgari, which Eddie seemed to have forgotten to pay. A ring and a brooch of smaller colored and colorless diamonds accompanied the earrings.

6. The Elizabeth Taylor Diamond: Formerly named, "The Krupp," is an Asscher

cut Type IIA D color (colorless) potentially internally flawless 33.19 carat diamond with smaller triangular cut diamonds at the side. This Ring was a gift from Richard Burton in 1968.

7. The Taj Mahal Diamond is an approximately 50 carat heart shaped yellow diamond set set in jade and surrounded by red stones. The pendant is attached to a gold and colorless diamond and cabochon ruby necklace. The first record of the stone is in 1627-28 when Shah Jahangir had three inscriptions carved into the top of the stone: Nur Jahan, Baygum-e Padshah 23; and 1037. This means that Nur Jahan was a lady of Padshah, while the number 23 refers to the regnal year of Shah Jahangir, which was 1037 or the equivalent of 1627-8 A.D. While it is not known if Nur Jehan ever wore the stone, at some point Shah Jahangir presented the jewel to his son, Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan who in turn gave it to his favorite wife, Mumtaz-I-Mahal. After bearing him fourteen children, she died in 1631. Her mausoleum eventually came to be called The Taj Mahal. Richard Burton gave the necklace to Elizabeth as one of the spectacular gifts he presented her with for her fortieth Birthday in 1972.

8. The Taylor-Burton Diamond is a 69.42 carat Type IIA D color internally flawless diamond set in a ring which could also be detached and worn as a pendant. Elizabeth chose to wear the stone as a pendant after 1970 as she considered it too large for her hand. Richard Burton gave her the diamond in 1969. She subsequently sold it in 1979 while married to John Warner. After divorcing Warner in 1982 she expressed regret at selling the diamond. Burton paid 1.1 million US dollars for the Taylor-Burton. When Elizabeth sold it, she received 5 million US dollars.

Some say that the most significant diamond in this collection is the Cullinan, the largest raw diamond found to date exceeding 3,000 carats.
