i don't know there probably is because i think the galaxy is endless
but if your talking about our solar system, I believe there is another planet beyond Pluto, but like Pluto it is too small to be called a planet.
The closest planet to Earth is Venus. In fact, after the Sun and Moon, Venus is the brightest object in the night sky. When Venus is at its closest, it's only about 38 million kilometers from Earth.
Pluto has a moon called Charon which is half the diameter of Pluto itself. It was thought for a while that Pluto was a binary planet. But Charon is a moon because it orbits pluto... if they were a binary system, they would move more like a pair of ballroom dancers.
About "on the right": it's a strange concept in space at the best of times (it's all relative to the observer's position). But as Charon orbits Pluto, it won't always be on the same side in any case.
The other thing to say, sadly, is that Pluto is no longer classed as a planet. It was declassified for a few reasons:
- It has a rather eccentric orbit compared to the other planets
- It is much smaller than otherwise thought
- We now know that there are quite a lot of objects of a similar size to Pluto, way out at the edge of the solar system
- And what really sealed Pluto's fate... another object was found (they called it "Eris" which is actually bigger than Pluto).
We either had to make a definition of a planet, or resign ourselves to an ever increasing number of planets being discovered. Pluto and Eris were reclassified "dwarf planets" as a failed fudge to try and console Pluto and all its buddies for the demotion. But essentially, astronomers consider dwarf planets as asteroids.
For a while there, they did acknowledge Sedna as a planet near Plluto, but they recently put it into the category of a planetoid, so technically no, they have not discovered a planet next to Pluto.
first of all, plutos not a planet, its a dwarf planet, and the reason why its a dwarf planet is because no other planet is like pluto in anyway, other then that its round.
Mercury (planet) is the nearest planet to the Sun.Planet Mercury is in orbit nearest the Sun.
mars is the second nearest planet from the earth and the fourth planet from the sun between the earth and mars is 59million kilometres
Our own Sun (also called Sol) is the nearest star to planet Earth, the next nearest is Proxima Centauri.
No. Mars is a planet, not a star. The closest star to Earth is the sun.
The planet that is closest to Earth depends on where the other planets are in relation to Earth. Venus can come the closest when it is on the same side of the Sun as the Earth, but Mars can be closest when Venus is on the far side of the Sun and Mars is on the same side of the sun as Earth.
Earth is the nearest planet from Mars.
No. Earth is a planet. The planet Mercury is the nearest planet to the Sun. The nearest star to the Sun is called Proxima Centauri.
No, the Earth is not the nearest planet to the Sun. The nearest planet to the Sun is Mercury.
The planet nearest to the Earth is Venus. That is, of course, when it's correctly placed in its orbit relative to the Earth.

The nearest planet (Venus) is about 25,760,000 miles (about 41,456,700 kilometers) away from Earth.
