The word deviate means to leave, depart or diverge from an established course. It can also mean to depart from the normal, accepted standards or to stray.
There is no such thing- we are all unique and have our own ideas. 'Normal' would imply that there is an established template for everybody, and that it would be 'abnormal' to deviate from it; as we all deviate from commonality in more ways than those in which we are similar, we must all be abnormal. People who deviate from normal behavior are not necessarily psychologically disturbed or mentally ill. Rather, some people are just quirky and like to march to the beat of their own drum.
