What is the number 666 about?

As far as being able to "identify" the prophesied Beast by "his number"... it's done by "adding up the numerical equivalents of the letters of his name," assumingly in the "Greek" language [or is it Hebrew]... as both of these have one set of characters for both words and numbers.

While many people are still trying to do this with any number of different languages and alphabets against men's names -- the ability to do it is primarily lost on most people, today.

About the Beast and his number, The Bible tells us:

"Here is wisdom, LET HIM THAT HATH UNDERSTANDINGcount the number of the Beast..." (Rev.13:18 NIV).

It requires the Wisdom of God, along with His Understanding within a person, to accomplish this mathmatical equasion [along with an understanding of the languages involved; as well as having a name to count]. And since the book of Revelation remains an inigma to most people, today... including to most of modern professing Christianity -- the importance of identifying the Beast in this manner is fairly unimportant as the time of the Great Tribulation fast approaches.

The Bible also tells us:

"Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the Day of the Lord has already come. Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that Day will NOT COME until the rebellion occurs [a 'falling away' from God's church] and THE MAN OF LAWLESSNESS IS REVEALED, the man doomed to destruction." (II Thess.2:1-3 NIV)

In other words... God's elect will know and understand exactly who the Beast is long before any "Wise and Understanding" individual adds up his Greek or Hebrew name.

This man will possess his "power, throne and authority" over the nations [Rev.13:2]... and will be "worshiped" by the world, that has always bowed to Satan's [the Dragon; the god of this world] influences.

"Men worshiped the Dragon because he had given authority to the Beast, and they worshiped the Beast..." (verse 4).

The Bible tells us that the world will be in distress like no other time in world history. The advent of the Beast will be a desperate time for all nations... and his appearance will be hailed by the world as "salvation" from whatever peril brings on the Tribulation.

"...they also worshiped the Beast and asked, 'Who is like the Beast? Who can make war against him?" (verse 4)

It will be a time of devastating war from which the Beast will emerge victorious... and for which the world will be grateful... literally bowing to him.

A distressed and chaotic world at war will not be counting the numerical equivalents of people's Greek names while this is going on. It may serve as verification after the fact to most... but is of little importance to anyone -- least importantly to God's elect on earth.

God's elect will be the focus of a global persecution that will give them little pause for reflection, much less, the ability to casually surf the web searching for "Beast ID's."

"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by ALL NATIONS because of ME. At that time many will turn away from the Faith and will betray and hate each other." (Matt.24:9-10 NIV)

This deceived, fast-paced, convoluted world screaming in the ears of the nations cares little or not at all about '666'. And that goes for the vast majority of modern professing Christianity, also.

Most people don't know where to begin to perform this prophetic feat. Plus, you can find thousands of hits on the Internet today that can [with a little mathmatical and/or alphabetical maneuvering] make anyone they want into the Beast.

Therefore, with so many confusing "beastly" choices in the world adding up to '666' -- even professing Christians with God's Wisdom and Understanding should "...not become easily unsettled or alarmed..." by what this world throws at them.

What should be important to Christians is staying in the Bible [God's Truth - John 17-17]... "continuing in His Word," as Jesus says it [John 8:31 KJV].

The Beast [666] will be revealed with little or no secrecy when the time comes:

"The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan DISPLAYED IN ALL KINDS OF COUNTERFEIT MIRACLES, SIGNS AND WONDERS, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO LOVE THE TRUTH AND SO BE SAVED." (II Thess.2:9-10 NIV)

Christians should by devouring the Word of God [the Spiritual Bread of Life]... chewing on the things God says, digesting the deep spiritual implications of His Truth, nourishing their spirits; developing and growing in Righteous Character into the Children of God -- Loving His Word, His Truth. Waiting patiently for His salvation.

Adding up the numerical equivalents of names, hoping to land on '666', is way down on the list of things to do for professing Christians.

2) Trumpets

You are not given the thunders, because the order was to seal them and not write them down. What you are given, by number are the seals, trumpets and vials. The 6th seal, 6th trumpet and 6th vial, align with the false or anti Christ (Satan playing the role of Jesus to get the unlearned to worship him).

The true Christ does not appear until the 7th Seal, 7th trumpet and 7th vial. Therefore 666 is identification that the fake or anti Christ will return prior to the true or real Jesus Christ. Your job as a Christian is to know the difference in the two, and be able to discern which one is the fake.

Here is a hint which will help you discern, flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God.

1st Corinthians 15:51-52

Behold I shew you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment in the twinkling of and eye, at the last trump:

Now if there are 7 trumpets, which one is the last? and what are we changed into at the 7th?

Others will try to sell you the idea of rapture, which stands against what is written in Matthew 24:9, Mark 13:9-11, Luke 21:12-19, and Ephesians 6:13. You are to put the gospel armor on and stand against Satan as he plays the role of fake Jesus. You are to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you when you are delivered up. The Holy Spirit did this same speaking in the book of acts (chapter 2) when the apostles first started. When the Holy Spirit speaks through you, an interpreter, is not required for those of other languages to understand your speech. Therefore, How can you be a solder of our Father and stand and defeat Satan, if you fly away as a coward?

There will be many who attempt to answer this same question concerning the numbers 666, you must therefore discern for yourself, by actually reading the text to discover the truth. I have given you the answer as a watchmen of the house of Israel. You must therefore discern for yourself what is written and decide does it make sense with what is written?

Does Christ tell you to run and hide? Or did he say stand and be delivered up for a testimony against Anti-Christ?

Do the numbers 666 identify some man or that one Satan as he is given in Revelation 12, 13, and 17 as well as Daniel 7? In the sequence and order of events given in the book of Revelation, concerning the Seals, Trumpets and Vials, Those which occur in number 6, do they identify Christ or Satan playing Christ? You are already given a name, Jesus Christ, as Revelation 13 identifies Anti-Christ as looking like the lamb (Jesus) but speaking as a dragon (Satan). Don't be deceived by other attempts to point toward the pope or some other man as the anti-christ, they simply do not align with the text written.

I can assure you with great clarity of the word, no human will ever fill that role. Satan fights with Gabriel in Revelation chapter 12 and looses. He is kicked out of Heaven onto the earth. Satan will deceive as it is written in Daniel 7 and Revelation 13, all those who donot have the seal and who do not know he is the fake Jesus.

In Revelation 13 it talks about Satan making lightning come down from the sky at his will, in the sight of men. Making lightning come from the sky at your will, is not the work of a man. But it will deceive many into thinking Satan is actually Christ returned. Read 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2, Satan stands in the temple in Jerusalem claiming to be Christ. This tells you two things, one Satan is the Anti-Christ and two the dome of the rock is going to be destroyed.

Therefore when you consider 6,6,6 please stay within the text of what is written. Remember "Behold I have foretold you all things"
