I think it is a trapizoid
I would be seriously concerned if a quadrilateral had more than two pairs of opposite sides parallel! A quadrilateral with two pairs of opposite sides parallel is a parallelogram.
A quadrilateral with only two pairs of parallel sides
The Rectangle and the Parallelogram both have 2 pairs of parallel sides. The Trapezium has 4 sides but only 2 are a parallel pair. The Kite has 2 pairs of equal sides but none parallel. The limits is an irregular quadrilateral with no side equal or parallel to another.
A trapezoid has only 1 pair of parallel sides of different lengths
Squares, rectangles, parallelograms and rhombuses have 2 pairs of parallel sides. The trapezoid has only 1 pair of parallel sides.
A rectangle is a quadrilateral (4 sides) and has all right angles and 2 pairs of parallel sides. A trapezoid is also a quadrilateral, but has only 1 pair of parallel sides.
A quadrilateral is a shape with four sides. A parallelogram is a quadrilateral that has two pairs of parallel sides (i.e. the sides opposite each other are parallel). A rectangle, for example, is a parallelogram. A trapezoid, however, is an example of a quadrilateral that is not a parallelogram - it has four sides, but only two of them are parallel to each other.
A parallelogram has two sets of parallel sides. In geometry, a parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. A quadrilateral with only one set of parallel lines is a trapezoid (UK trapezium).
No, a trapezoid can't be a parallelogram. By definition, a trapezoid is a quadrilateral (four-sided figure) with only two parallel sides. A parallelogram, by definition, is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.
Every quadrilateral that is a standard square, rectangle, or parallelogram has at least ONE pair of parallel sides - and they all have two pairs of parallel sides. For only ONE pair of parallel sides, you need an irregular trapezoid.
No, it doesn't have to be. A quadrilateral can definitely be a parallelogram only if: - Both pairs of opposite sides are parallel. - Both pairs of opposite sides are congruent. - One pair of opposite sides are both congruent and parallel. - Both pairs of opposite angles are congruent. - The diagonals bisect each other.
A trapezoid is a quadrilateral (meaning it has 4 sides) with 1 pair of parallel sides (meaning only 1 side is parallel to another on the figure).
